Band Assisted Front Squat

The Barbell front rack is a hard position for most, but for a few it’s more about the technique than the mobility.

When approaching the bottom of a front squat and your torso leans forward, that may cause excessive pressure on the wrists rather than the shoulders.

This banded drill will help understand how to descend to the bottom in a position that has an upright torso coming back up.

Wrist Mobilization

The front rack position requires significant wrist extension to securely rest the barbell across the front of the shoulders. Lack of wrist mobility can cause discomfort and make it hard to get the elbows high enough in this position.
